5 Foods that Compromise Your Metabolism!

Are you exercising, eating a relatively healthy diet and still not seeing the results you want? You might have some hidden foods in your diet that is wrecking your metabolism.

Here’s a list of 5 common culprits that may be sabotaging your weight loss efforts:

*Fruit Juice – Did you know that fat isn’t the first thing that causes you to gain weight? It’s eating too much sugar which wrecks your metabolism.

*Whole Grains – They are the number one offender when it comes to ruining your metabolism. “Whole grains” are not necessarily healthy because they include gluten (causes inflammation), starch (quickly turns into sugar) and phytic acid (binds to minerals).

*Canola Oil – This oil contains hydrogenated oils which may cause inflammation throughout the entire body disrupting your hormones and metabolism

*Peanut Butter – Peanuts are a common allergen and have been linked to food sensitivities, leaky gut and a slow metabolism. They are very high in omega-6 fatty acids which may cause inflammation in the body.

*Granola – Granola has many issues in that it’s made up of whole grains and sugar. The processed honey in it is a major cause of weight gain. A study at Texas A&M University tested honey and found 76% of it contained no pollen whatsoever. The high temperature pasteurization made it no better than corn syrup!

What to do instead:

*To replace fruit juice you can make homemade lemonade mixing real lemon juice, water and stevia. Kombucha is another great option (nature’s sports drink!).

*Replace your daily intake of grains with fruits and vegetables or one piece of a sprouted grain bread or sourdough. Use coconut flour which is high in fiber.

*Replace all vegetables oils with coconut oil and grass-fed butter to boost your metabolism. Grass-fed butter supports metabolism because it is high in CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) and coconut oil supports fat loss because it’s high in MCFA’s (Medium Chain Fatty Acids).

*Replace peanut butter with almond butter to rev up your metabolism. Almonds are high in an amino acid L-arginine which increases HGH production in your body. This causes your body to build lean muscle and sends your metabolism through the roof!

*Make your own sprouted granola. Soak almonds, pecans, cashews and chia seeds in water for eight hours, then set them out for a day on a paper towel. Mix in raw local honey, raisins, coconut flakes, cinnamon and sea salt. Place them in the oven, and you have a great tasting metabolism boosting snack.
